Specialist in paediatrics and child psychiatry

Dr Charlotte Carey is recorded as a Council member of the British Pestalozzi Children’s Village Association in 1950.

Prior to this, documents held by the National Archives* indicate that, in 1947, Dr Carey was already actively pursuing the aim of sending British children to the Swiss Pestalozzi Children’s Village in Trogen. At this time she, along with Miss K.M. Leake, Clare Soper of the New Education Fellowship and the reform pedagogue, Elisabeth Rotten, was in direct communication with the Home Office.
