Early Pestalozzi Images: General Life

Here are a few images showing early life in the Pestalozzi Children’s Village. Some of the photos were staged by photographers to make the images more attractive. Even so, life in the Pestalozzi community really was quite amazing.

After life where, for many, to food was often uncertain, Pestalozzi gave its children the novel experience of a seemingly infinite supply of provisions. Here, children enjoy a morning tea al fresco in the grounds of the Manor House. From left: Stachek (drinking), Arnold, Roman (facing camera), Leonard, Jurek, Niko, Richard (facing away) and an unidentified staff member.
